I have winged ants in my pool
They are probably swarming fire ants.
All ants and termites produce winged reproductives that go on coordinated mating flights called swarms to start new colonies. These flights are triggered by a weather event like rain. The reason for the coordinated mating flight is to allow for cross-breeding between different colonies. All the individuals in one colony are related, so they need to meet up with those from other colonies to minimize inbreeding.
Swarming fire ant reproductives, in particular, are attracted to shiny surfaces like pools and light colored driveways. That's why so many dead ones end up in your pool and why so many new mounds end up next to your driveway.
There isn't much you can do about the ones in the pool since they could be flying there from long distances. Fortunately, the swarm is usually only for a day or two and happens only a few times during the summer.
