Termite Swarm

We've actually seen the swarm all over town and they usually occur over a large geographical area on a sunny day very soon after rainfall. Often only for a couple of hours in the afternoon on one day. It may extend for a few days some years. Again, the treatment will not stop this year's swarm. There is no way to stop the swarm once there are winged individuals in the colony. By about 90 days after treatment, the colony will die, so no swarms on subsequent years.

And no, these insects chew through wood s there isn't anything that you would be able to close it up with that they wouldn't go through or around. So even if you tape up or close up the hole where they're going through, they'll still find another way out through the drywall or wood.

Typically if you treat a colony around when they would normally swarm, you will cause them to swarm more because of the stress on the colony.
