Do we treat the weep holes?

We treat the weep holes with insecticide to stop the ants from coming in. But we do not cover them. They are ineffective at preventing pest entry. The space between the brick veneer and the wood sheathing is a dead end for anything larger than an ant. The weep hole covers do not stop ants either.  We've investigated weep hole covers in the field and consulted with builders during construction to come to that conclusion.
